What are itinerary embeds?

Are you a travel blogger or content creator? Then we've got a great feature for you!

Your audience wants to know the very best a destination has to offer from a trusted source; you! Traditionally, your audience would have to manually copy your suggested itineraries into an app or document - a time consuming process! TripMapper changes this.

We have developed our technology to enable itinerary embedding so your audience can ‘clone’ itineraries from your travel blogs directly into their TripMapper account, ready to be tweaked and changed to their liking.

Stand out from the crowd, provide added value and retain your audience with our itinerary embeds!

How do you get set up?

Email us at hello@tripmapper.co (from the email address associated to your TripMapper account) letting us know you'd like us to enable itinerary embedding on your account. We will then enable it for you!

Now you have embedding enabled what's next?

STEP 1:

Create your itineraries in your TripMapper account.

When you're ready to embed an itinerary into your travel blog (making it public) go to that itinerary's 'Trip Settings' and click the 'Share' Tab. Turn on the 'Make trip public' switch.

*IMPORTANT* WHEN YOU MAKE THE TRIP ITINERARY PUBLIC, THIRD PARTIES WILL BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR ITINERARY AND ALL THE DATA AND IMAGES CONTAINED WITHIN. THEREFORE BEFORE MAKING ANY ITINERARIES PUBLIC CHECK THAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OR IMAGES!

STEP 2:

Once the 'Make trip public' switch has been turned on, a code panel will appear. Copy that line of code and paste it into your website (or pass it to your web developer to handle!). The embed code works the same way as embedding a YouTube video via an iframe.

STEP 3:

Once embedded your audience can preview your itinerary (and map if you added locations to your cards) on your chosen web page. The itinerary is interactive so readers can scroll and click on the individual cards and map pins.

If a reader likes the look of your itinerary they simply need to click the 'Copy this Itinerary' button to 'clone' it into their TripMapper account! Easy!

STEP 4:

Once the itinerary is in your reader's TripMapper account they can customise it to make it their own!

How do you stop making your itinerary public?

If you no longer want an itinerary to be public simply go to that itinerary's 'Trip Settings', click the 'Share' Tab and turn off the 'Make trip public' switch.
